Iets meer dan een jaar geleden zaten we een beetje te bakkelen over mogelijke herindelingen van bestruurlijke regio's in Nederland en Amsterdam. Blijkbaar had iemand hetzelfde idee voor Amsterdam en is ondertussen door de gemeenteraad een herindeling ingevoerd die per 1 mei 2010 ingaat.



Hetzelfde plan als ik al had voorgesteld, leest er toch nog iemand anders dan mijn vriendjes mijn lj.

Oh, en ik vindt het te moeilijk linkjes te gaan maken, maar het was op 2 maart 2008 gepost.

Ilse en Jitse zijn jarig en worden samen 55. Dat vieren wij vrijdag 10 juli vanaf 22 uur in de Korsakoff. Kom jij ook? Tot 12 uur is de Korsakoff gratis toeganklijk, daarna is het 5 euro entree voor Intona Rumori met blijde industriele muziekjes. Er zullen uiteraard hapjes en drankjes zijn. Schroom vooral niet om je vriendjes en vriendinnetjes mee te nemen.

Wat we gaan doen is een verrassing, maar neem wel je ? mee.

The rest of Kinetik was awesome. The friday and saturday lineup were great, the sunday night was not, not that it mattered it was great anyway. I met a whole bunch of great people and hope to see most of them again (hurrah for facebook!). Our plan was to leave on monday then hit new york, but we were so pooped form partying we left on monday night, drove all night to washington dc and got there around 11. I stayed up most of the ride to keep George company so by the time we got back home I wanted to take a nap and proceeded to sleep for about 16 hours. Now awake and hungry!

The trip so far has been a blast, flew into Washington DC with sligth delays. Spend the next couple of days hanging out with George and Job. Drove up to New York and walked around Manhattan. Then a night drive straight up to Montreal, with a beautifull morning sunrise. Spend some time sleeping at the apartment we are staying at, then went to the Kinetik pre-party, the afterparty and home. The first night of Kintik was great, couple of good performances: Memaker, Terrorfakt, Marching Dynamics. Then sleep and finally had a good night sleep since days.
Today EBM night but first there's barbecue.

10 to 24th of may to the States. I'm flying on Washington DC, hang around of a couple of days, go on a road trip to Kinetik in Montreal (CA) then back and hopefully have a couple of days in New York city and back to Washington.

Thats a lot cramed into two weeks, hope I have enough time to meet the Obama's.

I'm mostly not to fond of commericals, but there are exceptions. Like this one.

Went to see Watchmen yesterday. Good flick, very well filmed. Dark and grimey, explicit violence. The film adaquately follows the graphic novel (which you HAVE to read, I read it five times or more) and it was as if I was looking at the comic book images in motion . They changed bits of the ending, but in all it ties back in better with the film plot (the graphic novel is very dense and has numerous parallel plots). Acting is sometimes a bit flat, but hey, what do you expect from comic book characters....
In all definitely worth seeing.

The Uffizi gallery was great.

Interresting thought on Italian art: Most of  these paintings depict stories from the bible, and most these paintings show the Tuscan landscape in the background. Ergo the stories from the Bible did not happen in Israel, but in Italy.

It is very unveiling how people in those times saw the past and that the way we see it today is so much different. We are alienenate from our past because our images do not correlate with our reality. The renaissance painters obviously used what was around them to depict the past, thus their images of the the past were the images of the present, living in an eternal now waiting for the end of time.

De Stubnitz: varend cultuurpaleis en voor menigeen een plaats vol met herinneringen, of wellicht juist een plaats vol met verloren herinneringen, in ieder geval een unieke locatie met een bijzondere plaats binnen de Europese underground scene. Het schip ligt al sinds de Uitmarkt in Amsterdam en zal zeer binnenkort weer het ruime sop gaan kiezen. Bijna had dit jaar bij hun bezoek aan Amsterdam dreigen te gebeuren, dat we er geen feestje zouden mogen houden.
Let wel: “bijna”, want op de valreep gaan we dit rechtzetten en hoe!

De Stubnitz en de mensen van IntonaRumori, BADparties, Cybercase en Noise Central Festival bundelden hun krachten. The League of extraordinary DJ's en anderen voegden zich hierbij en een editie van “Ghost Ship” werd een feit! Een feest zoals er slechts soms af en toe eentje gehouden wordt...

Op vrijdag 20 Februari gaan alle zalen van het schip open voor een groots en meeslepend Dark Underground feest. Zo goed als alle Nederlandse "Dark Underground" DJ's komen samen om een avond vorm te geven zoals er nog nooit eentje geweest is.
Een mix van alle stijlen en alle richtingen die de onze subcultuur rijk is; een feest wat alleen tot stand kan komen als alle factoren ineens samenvallen; een feest waar je geweest moet zijn!

Alle drie de ruimtes van het schip gaan open voor een totale onderdompeling in een muzikale ervaring die we rustig uniek mogen noemen!



De “Front Room” wordt het domein voor liefhebbers van de zware industrial en power electronics.

De (gratis) NDSM-werfveer vertrekt vanaf de achterkant van Amsterdam CS en vaart tot 00.45. De eerste terug gaat om 09.15 op zaterdagochtend. Vanaf de aanlegplaats op de noordoever is het ongeveer 5 minuutjes lopen naar de Stubnitz.


Wil je eerder terug, dan kan dat ook: nachtbus 363 stopt op ongeveer 10 minuutjes lopen van de Stubnitz (halte Atatürk) en rijdt de hele nacht door ieder half uur.
